Purpose
This conference brings individuals, campus organizations, schools, government agencies, and community institutions together in harmonious effort to reduce the insult and effects of sexual assault and harassment. The plenary and breakout sessions, networking opportunities, exhibits, and other activities of the conference will address many concerns, including:
- how to reduce sexual assault and harassment
- ways of meeting the needs of survivors
- policy development and implementation
- judicial and legislative concerns
- security enforcement issues
- gender based hate crime
- gender based violence on other cultures
- community wide collaboration
- investigation and evidence needs
- sexual assault against all ages
Who Will Attend
Participants will include college, school and community law enforcement staff, teachers, faculty, students, administrators, various program representatives, sorority and fraternity leaders, residential advisors, volunteers, government and community leaders and health workers. There also will be a strong presence of college and community rape crisis staff and other concerned persons.

Dr. McEvoy is a leading authority on the problems of violence and victimization, including the problems of sexual assault, child abuse, bullying, gang violence, and suicide. He is co-author of If She Is Raped: A Guidebook for Husbands, Fathers, and Male Friends; If He Is Raped: A Guidebook for Parents, Partners, Spouses, and Friends; and many other books. He also has published numerous articles in professional journals, has appeared on national television programs such as Nightline and ABC’s 20/20, and has lectured extensively to educators, human service workers, students, and other groups throughout the country.
